Friends of Cedar Rock host the annual Strawberry Moon event to raise funds to support the preservation of Cedar Rock. Attendees can experience Cedar Rock as if they were guests of Lowell and Agnes, while they enjoy refreshments around the council fire, under the glow of June’s full moon.
The Walter Residence at Cedar Rock opens for the season. Experience Frank Lloyd Wright by touring one of the best examples of his Usonian style. Cedar Rock is one of just 19 signature properties designed by Wright, and the only signature property in Iowa.
Open Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through October.
Come join AIA South East Iowa for a festive night to benefit three arts organizations from our community: Arts Iowa City, Eastern Iowa Arts Academy and Friends of Cedar Rock. The night will include appetizers/beverages, a silent auction, live music, dancing, prizes and more. Tickets are $15 at the door or table of 8 for $150.
“Eddie's House” was the only doghouse designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It was designed for the Berger family of San Anselmo, California, and intended to be used by their dog Eddie. A replica of the Eddie’s House tours the country, and will be on display at Cedar Rock this summer.
In honor of this visit, Friends of Cedar Rock and Buchanan County Animal Shelter invite you and your furry friends to join us for this unique new fundraiser for the Buchanan County Animal Shelter.
